What is ATLAS?

ATLAS helps astrophotographers decide what to shoot tonight. It scores every object in the sky based on six factors: altitude, moon separation, illumination, sky brightness, imaging window, and season position, for your specific location and conditions. The interactive 3D dome visualizes 55,000+ celestial objects from real astronomical catalogs.

Built from the experience of an astrophotographer from Chicago who's imaged over 750 hours of deep sky objects from their light-polluted rooftop.

How we use your data

You can use ATLAS without an account. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email, and profile photo to identify your account. You may optionally share your location so ATLAS can score targets for your sky. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) that require no cookies and collect no personal information.
